How to recover corrupted Operating System on your PC

In this post you will learn how to re install your laptop’s factory operating system. This could be useful if your OS stopped working properly, got corrupted or was infected with a virus.

WARNING!!!

THIS IS DONE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

RUNNING SYSTEM RESTORE UTILITY WILL ERASE ALL YOUR PERSONAL DATA ON THE HARD DRIVE AND RESTORE IT BACK TO FACTORY SETTINGS. MAKE SURE YOU BACKUP YOUR PERSONAL DATA BEFORE RE-INSTALLING THE OS. ALSO, MAKE SURE THE LAPTOP IS RUNNING ON AC POWER (ENSURE IT IS PLUGGED TO A POWER SUPPLY) DURING THE RECOVERY PROCESS.

These days most computers are sold without recovery discs. Instead they have a recovery partition with the factory image. In order to re-image the hard drive back to its default setting, it’s necessary to initiate the recovery wizard and it is very similar for many different brands.

As an example, we’ll show step-by-step operating system re-installation process on different laptop brands.
